Welcome!

Welcome to the Milburn/Wilcox family tree. I started to research the family trees of myself and my husband towards the end of my maternity leave in 2006. My main reason for starting was that I felt that it was important for our child(ren) to know where they came from but in the process I have found a love of genealogy!

A great deal of credit goes to the connections I have made with those who share the same ancestors with me and whom have done a lot of work on their side. Many thanks to them for sharing their hard work with me!

You are most welcome to browse my site but please note that you will not be able to see records of living individuals, or those who have only died recently unless you have logged in. I'd love to hear from anyone who shares an interest in Family History or who thinks they share a family link!

Well I haven't really been doing much in the way of family tree research as we've been adding to the family tree in a more immediate way! Our son Calum was born last week!

While on a short break in York during February, I had the chance to visit the Borthwick Institute at the University of York. I was specifically looking for records relating to an ancestor who was a patient at Clifton Hospital. I was extremely lucky to find her admittance details and her case notes, which while brief, had some lovely facts about her appearance which are lovely to have.

I have to praise the staff at the Borthwick who are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Definitly worth a visit!
